Time to Smell the Roses

So. Life is normal. Well, normal for being in China. Interesting Developments: I walked barefoot outside for the first time and didn't get cut (there are a lot of glass shards). I still need to sign up for virtual science, but don't tell anyone. I decided that having 2 websites at once was not worth the effort, so I retired Project Xiamen. Our internet has stopped working, so we our using one of our neighbors wi-fi, which is only on sometimes, so a lot of time we do not have internet, making it rather hard to do virtual school. Whew! That was a bit of a run on sentence! Anyway, life is going on as usual. This is the third day in a row we couldn't see the ocean because of the smog, and this is one of the cleanest cities in China. *Sigh*. Ah well. Life is good

OoooooKaaayyyyy, this is really belated, but we did go backpacking! It was great fun. We went to Ten Lakes, a 6 mile hike, going in mostly up hill, packing out mostly down. There are really only 7 large lakes, but a couple of other small ones, so I guess it counts as 10. We stayed at one of the nicer lakes (though they are all nice), and had a blast. We plenty of food, and a neighbor called Starchild. His real name was Mike but where he worked there were 5 other Mikes, so he was Starchild. I felt bad for him, 'cause he over packed and probably wound up carrying 70 lbs, whereas I only carried about 15. Anyway, back to the lake. It had this amazing diving rock that was really deep, and a couple islands you could swim to. And there was a great walk we went on with amazing views and funny incedents. Like one with my cousin and a fish. I won't go into details. There was also a snowball fight! Cause, you know, up in the mountians there is still snow at this time of year.So anyway, that was ooddlleess of fun. Bye!

Sorry everyone,  I haven't been writing very much lately. To quote Calvin and Hobbs, "The days are just packed!"

I am in china!!!!! Sorry, I have actually been in china a few days by now, but we only just got internet. Woo-hoo!! Things are really different though. Like you have ta boil all your water before you drink it, to purify it. And there isn't a designated shower, just a showerhead. But my only regrets are not knowing more chinese before  I came, and not having any friends her. And not having a comfy bed. But I really like I t here. All the food is good, the smell brings back memories of the first time I came here, even though I was only four, the smell of china is so un-american you cannot forget it. I am working on making our windowsills into mini gardens. It's great!

So!! So much has been happening. I am at  my g-pa and g-ma's house in California, and the days basically have 5 important things; Jane Austin and Bronte videos, food, virtual school, sleep and bridge. For people who don't know how to play bridge, it's a card game.

P.S. The publishing date on this is wrong

Bored, bored, bored, bored, bored. You only realize how nice walking is when your on crutches. Which currently I am on. It stinks. I can't go outside. I can't get in the pool. I can't carry a glass of water, or some dishes. I sound like some clanky metal machine whenever I walk. My legs hurt. It is incredibly boring.

The reason I'm on crutches is an oyster shell. Or at least we think it was an oyster shell. That's really the only thing it could be. Sorry for confusing you here, let me start from the top.

It was a glorious day on the water, clear and calm. I was out on one of my friends boat, and had just finished tubing. We decided to stop at a shallow spot to float around, and naturally, me being me, didn't really want to wear shoes. Besides my friend wanted to wear some, so I volunteered mine. I jumped of the front of the boat to move the boat and put the anchor in (which I failed at doing). My friend came and put the anchor in for me, and I moved away to pull on the rope, and see if it would hold. As i took one more step, "something really sharp" gashed open my foot, at the bottom of my arch. Copious bleeding and quantities of hydrogen peroxide on my foot ensued. Fun, fun, fun. I t actually wasn't bad: the stitches were the painful part. I got 3. Anyway, I went to All Children's Hospital, where I got a ton of stuff done. And they made me wear a boot and use crutches.

But that isn't the bad part. The bad part is that now I cant do any thing for a while, and I am going on vacation to California with my g-parents in a couple days. Flying with crutches. Sounds fun. But this means I can't go backpacking or garden or do anything. Life is gonna suck.

Oh well.

I think I am allergic to typing. It's not like I have had tons of time to blog, but I'm sure I could of sometime. I just don't like it as much as talking, but that's unavoidable. I have been very busy, though. First off, my grandma had a huge party for her 70th, and my family and I basically had to do the whole thing. This meant streamers, dusting, toilet cleaning, etc. etc. etc. I mean honestly, It's not like the guests, the first thing they do when they walk in the door, is run around and check if the back rooms closets are perfectly straightened out, or if the coils on the underside of the refrigerator are dusted properly. Not to mention, my grandparents have a huge house. And two of them!! That explains why I didn't blog a while back; we were busy cleaning their other house, which is in the middle of nowhere in northern Michigan. But I gotta go now, so bye!!

Hi everyone. Just checking in. I have a lot to talk about, but my fingers because I just crated another site called www.projetxiamen.weebly.com. It;s all about my upcoming trip to China. So, see you later!!

May I just note here that as the school year is ending I get happier and happier? You think this would be a cue to move me out of my school. I just read my posts and they slowly get nicer and nicer. *hint hint*

Thanks, everyone. Bye bye now.

That is a direct quote from my sister she said who knows how long ago. I remember it because of how true it is. I can't talk much now, but I will explain (no sense in not making sense and than not explaining). We are doing a grand house clean out because in a couple of days we will be driving to Michigan to visit my mom's parents and then coming back for a week or less and flying to California to visit my dad's parents. We will stay in california before we leave to fly directly from China. 15 hours on your tush. Fun, fun, fun. Actually, it probably will be fun, but I want to complain about it. But anyway, the point is that we will be leaving very soon and we only have tis much time and then a few more days to get the house ready for renters and summer house-sitters. So we are going on massive junk cleaning up and trowing out operations, Goodwill hunts galore and just in general, clean-o-ramas.

May I mention in here that we have 1 1/2 days of school left and I still have homework to do? Is that not total insanity? But I didn't come here to rant. I think I will go to a friend's site, www.ouropinions.weebly.com and rant there. It's a neat site. You should go there. Anyway, shalom!!
